You must have JavaScript enabled in your browser to utilize the functionality of this website. Includes complete vehicle disassembly, assembly, and blowup diagrams. If your looking to restore your vehicle - this is the first thing you should buy. A complete walk thru to help you rebuild or trouble shoot just about any mechanical or electrical problem. Don't rely on those wrong universal manuals - this is the proper one. Guaranteed. Fits: 46-49 CJ-2A 49-53 CJ-3A 53-64 CJ-3B 55-65 CJ-5 50-52 M38 (12 volt conversion) 52-66 M38A1(12 volt conversion) If its not what else do I need? It does not appear on the list here It looks like the one for 1952 M30.Carl. I'm looking for the adjustment nut, but can't seem to find it But really its probably more in your sector shaft that has the wear. If I want to rewire my 1960 Willys CJ-5 will this manual do the job. And I'm sure it gives my torq specs maintenance specs etc. I bought the universal manual from you. The manual does not show manual selectors on the front wheel hubs while my jeep has some very old Warn selectors. Why were they added and what do I do if they don't work? It has a full torque section in the back. Do you have a manual that tells what fluids to use in the differentials, transmission, engine, etc. I also want to add a steering column blinker assembly, as it has some toggle switches that I want to replace. I also want to see how to service the oil bath air cleaner. This mechanics manual covers torque specs, trouble shooting guides and diagrams. Thanks What is the cost ?Call me toll free and i can walk you thru it. THanks! You will want MANUAL-025 for that. You may want to consider MANUAL-025 since it covers the V6-225 motor too. I guess my question is does SKU: MANUAL-060 have information or diagram in it that this one doesn't? Thanks, The MANUAL-020 will cover the mechanical of the M38 just not the electrical. My machine is an early build CJ-2A, SN 10391, with that axle. Mine is 8305 255835.

I'm looking for the year of manufacture. Regards Ian Please call us toll free. We can help further. Thanks, Ronald Rhode Manual-025 will work too. It covers the 4-134 F head. I have a CJ3B and i am looking for a manual to understand how everything is working. Is this one the best option? Thanks a lot! Manual-020 It covers torque specs, diagrams and goes into trouble shooting guides that will help you along your restoration way. Thanks! Will manual-20 provide me with all the information and part numbers I need. Will most cj5 parts bolt onto the m38a1. I am mainly concerned with the engine, tranny and transfer case all bolting up to the m38a1 chassis. Thanks. Please call us toll free. We are happy to help you out and get you converted over and answer any questions. You will have to modify some parts from the CJ5 in order for them to work on the M38A1. Give us a call toll free and we could go over all of that. It covers the same axles, engines, transmissions and transfer case as the CJs. The only section that wouldn't work the A1 is the voltage but since your changing it over to 12 volts you should be all set. Thanks It does cover some of the body but not in detail on body removal per se. Really there are just a few bolts that need to be removed for that. As well as for the body. Thanks! But it doesn't cover aftermarket items like your Warn hubs. However the Warn hubs you have on there are not original. I do not believe it is covered. I dont think mine is the original dipstick for the motor - it seems too short. How long should the dipstick be? They used different lengths thru the years. Will this manual show such diagrams and pictures ??? Thanks. We also sell this mechanics manual above that will walk you thru it too. Thanks! Engine in particular. I have a title but can't verify that it belongs to this vehicle. Please help! Sounds like yours is missing.

We do sell part number: DATAPLATE-2 But this may help as far as what should be in vehicle:If you have a title to it we do have part number DATAPLATE-2 and it can be stamped by you. Engine has 4 plugs that come off the block at an angle (not flat on the top). I am pretty certain that all parts are original (we have completely disassembled it and the factor paint all matches in areas that where covered up). Please call us toll free and we can help out. Try part number: MANUAL-035. How do I measure the clearence to know how many shims I need to use? When shims are present, removing shims will decrease pressure. This adjustment will change the pressure at higher speeds but not at idle speed. Safe minimum pressure is 6 lb at idle and 20 lb at 20000 rpm. Please call us toll free and we can try to help. If you have questions too we can help. Call us toll free. How can I tell for sure if it is a 45 or 46. The ID plate says CJ2A. This Willys vin guide will help:I am purchasing a cj-2a and i need to put the entire interior together. thanks It does go over electrical and fuel. Other than that there are just seats in the interior on those. Give us a call toll free. We can help you out. The heat is stuck on. I tried to close the heat switch but it will not shut off. Is there a way i can get the switch and the heat off? If not just splice your hose and install one. That do the trick. Thanks! I havent been able to get a hold of previuos owner yet but I have a new question. I know the older engines were designed to run on leaded gas and what damage will unleaded gas do to motor or should I get a lead additive to put in it once I start driving it thank you Every now and then you'll see one either red or an orange color which indicates that it's been rebuilt. Thansk! Engine: 4 quarts. The oil filter is part number: 909335. 4qts in the motor itself. That way it makes a loop. Give us a call toll free. It will have break out diagrams as well as step by step instructions for rebuilds.

It is the original L134 flathead. Will this book give me all the specs and tolerances ? It goes over everything on the motor. Now I was under the impression that the cj5's only ever had the F-head engines in this year, and the cj3B had the L-head engine. Is this correct or did I just misread something at some point? The 4-134 L head was used on CJ-3A and earlier jeeps. They used a 4-134 L on the earlier Willys. The earlier Willys used the 4-134 L head. The early CJ-3A had the 4-134 L head engine. Thanks If you've gone to 12 volts, you will be all set. Thanks. Publication. This Mechanic's Manual covers the Willys CJ-2A and the 463 and 663 Willys Wagons, Jeepster and Trucks. No Prob Rob 5.0 out of 5 stars And I've never even had a shop class! (Or even any real interest in cars, for that matter.) Sure, some of the instructions could have been more detailed, and there could have been more pictures. But remember that this book covers FORTY-TWO YEARS of Jeeps. Adding more pictures or other detail would make the book unwieldy, or necessitate dividing it into multiple volumes. Each section is further subdivided into functional area, then by specific Jeep model, and each contains operational theory where appropriate. Without this book, there is NO way I would have even attemped this Jeep restoration. WITH the book, I'm about 90 of the way through the frame-off restoration with very few problems. Not bad for a total amateur. And I couldn't have come this far without this book. Bottom line: If you're restoring an old Jeep, or just want to maintain and repair your old Jeep, you should have this book! The book was delivered ahead of schedule and is in excellent condition. The book carries a whole lot of information and nice detailed technical drawings - you can actually take a part your whole jeep and put it back together. I can definately recommend this book and the dealer. The only thing that didn't work out perfect was the shipping.

it came in on the last possible day and was too late to be a in-time birthday present. Nevertheless it was a great gift and put a smile on the recipient, a '86 CJ-7 owner:). Taking pride in it will help you keep its value.Your Jeep is a precious investment. Taking pride in it will help you keep its value. Whether you bought a jeep with a fabric top or decided to install a jeep soft top yourself, gear up for our tips that’ll show you the best way to keep it clean. Here’s everything you need to know. Giving them a thorough wash once or twice a year isn’t going to cut it. You need to make time to clean your soft top every few weeks. You should also check it regularly for marks and damage. Always try and use a specialist detergent. These tend to contain no oils. Those can stick to the surface and attract more grime.

The timeless design is the one every kid dreamed of. Go a step further and shop now for a lift kit to give your jeep even more cool appeal. If you didn’t buy your jeep new, bear in mind previous owners or dealers may have replaced the top with a different type of material. Take a small drop of water and put it on the soft top. Try rubbing the water in. If it begins to soak in then the top is likely to be fabric. If it smudges then it’s more probable that the top’s vinyl. Use a gentle specialist shampoo. Some of these will also prevent mildew from growing on the surface. These are great for paintwork but not needed for soft tops. You should use a brush with feathered bristles to free up dust and dirt from textured vinyl. This should also help repel dirt and is one of many ways to keep your jeep protected. You should spray your protectant around 10 inches from the top in sweeping motions. Ensure that any excess is removed from paint and glass. You should consider repeating the procedure about once a month. There are cleaners available which can be used on both vinyl and fabric. The effectiveness of this will decrease over time. If water is penetrating the fabric then it’s time to treat your soft top with a protectant. Shake the protectant well and spray evenly between fifteen and twenty inches from the fabric. You should use a gentle sweeping motion and take care not to saturate the surface. Apply up to three coats. Depending on the outside temperature this would normally be at least ten minutes. It’s fine to let the soft top dry off in the sun. A protectant should be applied about every six to eight weeks. This will help shield the soft top from the sun and repel grime as well. Get it wrong and you could end up damaging your soft top. You should always use a brush that’s recommended for the job These need to be soft enough to prevent causing damage but hard enough to give a thorough clean. A specialist horsehair brush is ideal for both vinyl and fabric.

It’s soft and durable. They are the part of your soft top which is more prone to aging. Clean it in exactly the same way as you would the rest of the top. Then treat it with a protectant. There are products available which both protect and clean. Some of these can be used on exterior lights too. The secret is to clean and protect it regularly with the right products. Don’t make any decisions yet. Here are 7 things you need to know before you get started. That’s a lot of soft tops considering that Jeep is breaking sales records this year. Fiat Chrysler sold almost 30,000 in March of this year alone! Buying a soft top is a way of giving your ride a custom look, just as outfitting your Jeep with decals does. A soft top gives you the greatest amount of flexibility for enjoying your Jeep. This useful guide goes into detail about the different styles and what to consider when making your choice. This won’t give you protection from the elements but will give you some security and storage space for your stuff. Check the quality of the window zippers and ensure that they are self-correcting. They will also be a UV resistant vinyl. For your top to really last, you need to clean it regularly. You also need to lubricate the zippers so that they continue to glide smoothly. Use a rag or foam brush to remove dirt and debris from the top and windows. Just take care with the windows so that you don’t scratch them. This will prevent the soap from drying on the top. You’ll need to dry the windows right away if you want to prevent water spots. Use a soft dry cloth to wipe the windows down. This will scratch them. Always use water or a damp cloth to rinse the dirt off. There are clamps and anchor points that secure the top into place. Plus they have a lot more bulk when you put them down. This makes getting in your cargo area harder. The top also attaches to these rails in pieces. This makes removal much easier and faster.

The downside is that it could be time-consuming to take all the individual pieces down. It can also be harder to have a sealed up and secure fit. The length of time yours will last depends on how often you drive your Jeep, how often you take it on and off, and how well you maintain your top. You want a top that will be easy to take on and off while still providing adequate protection. Otherwise, what is the point of even having the top? So be sure to do your research and determine what quality of top you can afford. Let’s start with that you should refrain from putting it up and down, just put it on and leave it alone. So this will increase the risk of damage as you try to put the top up and down. If you hit them trying to knock the ice off you risk punching a hole in them. Otherwise, the snow weight will weigh on your soft top stretching the material. Think about the amount of protection that you want from the elements. You’ll want to care for the windows so they don’t become hazy and scratched. This will keep your top in full functioning order. This beginners guide will show you how to apply car decals like a pro. With their rugged exterior and high chassis, driving one makes you feel like you’re the king of the road. Plus how many other cars can be driven with no doors in the summertime? Suddenly, there’s competition for the crown. So how do you make your Jeep stand out in the crowd? While running bigger tires looks awesome, it’s a fairly expensive way to upgrade your vehicle. Not to mention, a bit unnecessary if you never take it off-road. Read on for a step-by-step guide on how to apply car decals at home. The best place to affix your decal is a well-ventilated garage. Don’t work anywhere that is in the direct sun or where the wind can ruin your decal. Wash your car with soapy water or a power washer to remove any small bit of dirt. Wipe it down with a chamois or other soft cloth. Wait until the car is completely dry before you start installing the decal.

Use a squeegee or spray bottle to cover the decal with the wetting agent. This is to make it easier to remove the protective wax paper. Carefully apply it to the surface working slowly from one side to the other. Be sure to watch for any air bubbles during this process. Do this slowly to make sure that you’re not pulling back or damaging your design. For the most part, the process is the same but requires a little more patience so you can make sure that your decal is in the right place. With this method, you’ll apply the decal in two stages instead of all at once. Next, you’ll want to spray the area with your wetting agent. This gives you some flexibility when you’re placing the decal. Remove part of the wax paper and then use your squeegee to apply the first part of the graphic. Double check for any air bubbles as you apply the graphic to the Jeep. Finish by peeling off the application tape starting from one corner of the design With a bit of patience and an awesome design, your Jeep will be king of the road again in no time.
