The methods that they do show are almost too obvious, and not very suave (taping the ends or melting the ends). Another thing with this book that may leave some readers dissatisfied is that most of the ties here are slanted toward decorative purposes, and are more elaborate than some people will have the patience for. This isn't a bad book, it's just that there are even better ones for those purposes. On the other hand, if you are more into decorative bondage than restraint or sex bondage, then purchasing this book is indeed a good idea. If you buy this book, or others about bondage, remember to have fun, be safe, and remember, consensual is sexy!!!I studied it for months with my Master. But the book does a great job with step by step photos in black n white to aid in the learning process. This is a beginners set, because the knots and bondage taught are not difficult. With all my years in dungeon, I would put this as beginner to intermediate. Overall, I good read for anyone getting started in rope play and rope bondage.The reviews looked great, but I can't agree. The book lacks explanation of how to complete the basic traditional shibari ties. This is hugely frustrating for me, because that is the exact reason why I bought the book. It appeared, based on the description, that it would. Sadly no. Additionally, the ties demonstrated in the book use an excess amount of rope and lack the simplicity and elegance I would prefer.In the age of internet access, this is still the best and easiest reference to reach for, well written and beautifully photographed. I highly recommend this book.My partner and I appreciate the amount of detail that went into both the descriptions and pictures in this book. It's really funny too. Some of the more advanced knots are very time-consuming, but the simpler ones are really fun and fast. The steps make it easy to memorize so you don't always have to look at the book when you're trying to have some fun.

Well, I didn't know how, but I'm always willing to learn and do what I can to fulfil a clients needs. So, I purchased it and read it in an afternoon and had practice all the knots within a week. I'm just waiting for my client to make her appointment, for her requested shoot. The main thing though, is that it explains things very easily, shows photographic images to help people understand, and it also covers types of ropes, what they are best used for and it also covers safety factors you need to know about each knot and rope type. All I can say, is have fun with it, but please be mindful you can hurt the person being tied up.It's easy to follow with briliant pictures and explanations that show the autors knowledge and ability to share it. This book is good for everyone who wants to learn the art of binding.The pictures and text demonstrate clearly how each knot should be tied, and before you even reach the end it gives you the tools to start creating your own harnesses and ties.
