J.L. 5.0 out of 5 stars So I was looking for a projector mount where I could connect a piece of piping to the mount, and then just slide that over the top of the tripod. I also needed something that had easy adjustability because each time I set it up I'll need to adjust the angle of the projector slightly to fit the screen. So if you're looking to do something similar, this is a great option.http://www.drupalitalia.org/node/67578

I'm sure it would also make a great mount for a permanent ceiling installation.A JVC DLA-400U ( 34 lbs. ) and a small Viewsonic projector. Worked well for both applications. To address couple points of negative reviews: 1) The projector moved out of original fixed position - One thing you need to do when attaching the plate with the arms to the projector is be sure to adjust it from side to side and front to back in a way that the weight is evenly distributed and you find the center of gravity of the projector and it is evenly balanced. Also when the projector is mounted, be sure it is level both front to back and side to side. These steps will take trial and error plus some extra time, but being level and balanced will help the projector stay in place and also eliminate keystone adjustments when the image is projected on your screen. 2) The plastic round grip that tightens when the projector is in it's final fixed position is not going to tighten to the point of the projector not moving at all. I have used an expensive Chief mount for the install of a JVC projector before and it did not not tighten to the point of the projector being completely immobile either. Again this is where being balanced and level is important. 3) Yes, with a JVC projector you will have to go to hardware store and get proper screws. This is a quality, sturdy, great looking mount that does the job as intended. Side note - With the 2 extra tubes and couplers ( see pic ) it is supporting about 43 pounds.I have a low ceiling in my movie room and liked the low profile as well as the simplicity of the install and general design. I also really liked how simple it is to attach and remove the projector from the ceiling mount. Unfortunately though, this product has a design flaw that will always allow a little horizontal movement regardless of how tight you've secured the screws, and this will be frustrating over time as it periodically moves out of alignment. I'll explain.http://andeanpaths.com/images/3mxs24jvju-installation-manual.pdf

As part of the install, you attach a mount to the ceiling and a mounting plate with arms to the projector. The ball hinge is threaded onto the ceiling plate and tightened with the allen wrench. Now you are ready to mount the projector. The projector plate has 3 short posts that fit within the ceiling mount and twist slightly to hold in place. To ensure the plate does not untwist (and thus fall), there is a set screw to lock it in place.here is the problem. The set screw hole is threaded on the projector plate, but not on the ceiling plate.it is just a slightly larger hole there that the screw protrudes through. This slightly larger hole allows the projector to move back and forth horizontally a little bit which translates into a larger movement once it reaches the throw distance to the screen. I have called OmniMount (3 times) to ask if this was just a defective unit, but they just tell me they will get back with me once an engineer replies to their email and never do. I returned my first unit and got a second one.same thing. Design flaw or bad batch, either way, it is not an acceptable mount for truly stabilizing your projector. Had the ceiling plate side of the set screw hole been threaded, this would have been a five star rating as I liked everything else, including the price. Though there are things I liked about the mount, I gave it one star since the primary purpose of a mount is to hold the projector stable and this mount does not do that.Make sure you go into a sub for a heavy projector. There is a different review on here where you constantly have to adjust the mount like once or twice a month if you have traffic walking above the ceiling that the mount is mounted to. It is true. I have to adjust my projector angle every so often. It can get annoying but it is a low profile mount that I used for our theater and I do like it. I would recommend it.My installation came out well and I am very pleased with it, but it was not completed without problems.

One of the leg posts was defective and unusable, not being threaded on the end that screws into the projector. After studying the situation, I decided to use stainless steel screws instead. So a trip to the hardware store was necessary. And I did not need the leg extensions so I removed them, using only the u-shaped arms to connect between the projector mounting points and the mount plate. I did not encounter the set screw problem described in another review.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again It would stick so I had to force it in with pliers. Patrick Stirling 5.0 out of 5 stars It's very sturdy, almost too heavy actually. Rated up to 45lb as I recall. I weighed my projector, it's 10lb. I think most modern projectors will be 10lb rather than 45lb. It was easy to install, the hardest part was getting the HDMI and power cables up to the ceiling. It really does seem to be universal fit, I mounted my projector (an InFocus IN72) with only a little fiddling - I had to remove the leg extensions as the holes in the projector are quite close together. The only minor complaint I have is that the mount does not hold the projector rigidly. With everything tight you can still tilt the projector a little, so it was fiddly getting it aligned just right. However being up on the ceiling, it's not going to be knocked into and there's no breeze to shake it, so it's been fine since then.It has a pivot point so the projector can be pointed in practically any direction. I wanted something secure for my relatively heavy Projector and having a 40lb weight limit this thing is solid. Easy to mount too! Cons: A little pricey when not on sale but a good investment if you want something secure for an expensive Projector. I do recommend this!I'm pretty sure it shouldn't have worked with our projector, but after several hours we made it work using our own tools and screws. The directions have very few words and include pictures of parts that are different from what's in the box. It is very shaky on our ceiling. We tried to order an extender pipe to bring it down from the ceiling, and it only comes in black, even though are mount is silver and they are made by the same company. Also, the extender needed a pipe coupler, which was not included, and I can't find a place to buy it anywhere. Why would a company make an accessory product that doesn't connect tot he original product.I had only 8 feet of clearance in the room I was wanting to place my projector and this mount has a very low (about 4 inches) clearance.

It's extremely easy to adjust--you just loosen the big gray ring and you have an incredible range of motion to get the placement you need. There were plenty of attachments provided to fit my projector (Epson 8350) and it looked like you could make it work for just about any projector out there.I called and tried to get the problem resolved and basically was told sorry they won't do anything to fix the situation. I really had good luck with amazon until now. Please choose a different delivery location.Additional terms apply. Our payment security system encrypts your information during transmission.
