I checked out the jumpers on the V770 to make sure they are set for 2X AGP as the P2B-F has a 440BX chipset. The PCI slot next to the AGP slot is empty as I've heard that can cause an issue as well. Has anyone else experienced these issues with the V770? Which drivers have you been using (i.e. Diamond's or the actual NVIDIA reference drivers). Please post your motherboard's BIOS settings too, just to be safe (e.g. if the AGP aperture size is set too low or something). Can you get it to boot in safe mode? There's a PDF manual that explains them that you should be able to find with a web search. Might want to try verifying those and perhaps even trying them set both ways. It's still going in one of my machines somewhere (can't remember which one!). I have looked at the manual my card is set to 2x AGP. It worked in DOS, but I didn't try VESA modes there. Any 3D game would display blurried textures and freeze after a couple of seconds. When I switched to BX, the problem went away. If not, it could be the motherboard not having sufficient power provided to the AGP slot to supply the Viper 770 of juice. Many early AGP boards had this problem My retro rigs (old topic) Interesting Vogons threads (links to Vogonswiki) Report spammers here! Also I checked the BIOS and the AGP Aperture is set to 64 MB. Looks like a compatibility problem. Installed Quake 2 and OpenGL mode is working wonderfully and I'm running the demos in timedemo mode in loops to make sure the card is fine. I did switch sound cards as I had an Ensoniq AudioPCI, which I switched to an ESS Audiodrive 1868, so maybe that was it. I'll have to do a Windows 98 SE reinstall to see if that was the case. I need more CompactFlash cards now! Also I checked the BIOS and the AGP Aperture is set to 64 MB. Quake 2 is looking awesome in OpenGL mode. ??

I think the AudioPCI just didn't like the Viper. I think it's worth to try both cards with different IRQ settings. You can manage them in the Win9x Device Manager. I just put it in temporarily because the only ATX power supplies I have on hand lack the -5v rail and wasn't sure if my ISA sound cards would work or not. Right now I have an ESS 1868 Audiodrive in it with my DB60XG, but I'm looking into getting another card thats better. Right now I have several sound cards but I'm not happy with them for the games that I want to play. I have. RIVA is an acronym for R eal-time I nteractive V ideo and A nimation accelerator. Nvidia removed RIVA from the name later in the chip's lifetime. Only install drivers if you are qualified to do so. In fact, I remember my first mail order experiment with a Super VGA card late in 1986. Shaking in my boots, I installed my first custom graphics board in my hot 12 MHz 286 system. But my recent experiences have all been positive, most notably with the Diamond Monster MX300 and the Diamond Monster Fusion Banshee, two excellent products.Memory on the V770 is 5.5ns and the RAMDAC is 300MHz.Simply shut your machine down, replace your current video board with the V770, restart and pop in the CD. I had no difficulties and didn't have to consult the manual. On the whole this is a good thing, and it's always a good idea to check for updates once you complete your install. The most recent revision is 4.02 dated June 3rd. Optionally, you may log on to Nvidia and download their most recent Detonator 2.08 drivers. You will gain a bit of speed but lose the custom Diamond applets. The new Turbo Boost feature is the first place I went. Using Turbo Boost, you can increase the default clock speed in 5MHz increments. The Xentor 32, however, can be clocked slightly higher, to 185MHz. At this speed performance increased by about 8 over the V770 scores using the same Nvidia Detonator 2.08 drivers.Who can even consider 32 bit color in Falcon 4?

And there aren't any DX6 based simulations that support multi-texturing. But this will begin to change with the simulations we see this fall. On the other hand, it does support AGP 4x. Until support arrives for AGP4x in software and on the new mainboards this is a moot issue. This program allows you to choose the games for your bundle, two full versions out of six options. The current choices are: Sin, Shogo, Heretic II, Asteriods, StarSiege Tribes and Fighter Squadron. HEY! At last some realistic options for simulation fans!!If you are heavily into Falcon4 avoid this board. What you need is 3dfx Voodoo3 running Glide.Look for a good price and be sure to compare prices with the Hercules and Guillemot boards. If you use or will soon acquire DVD you will have to go with the Maxi Gamer Xentor 32.You'll get better image quality under D3d than Voodoo3 will give you, plus AGP support and support for larger textures. On the other hand if you already own a good gaming board (Voodoo2 or V3), consider waiting a few months and see what NV10 brings.Go to Video Review Index. I have been all over Diamond's site and cannot find a word about it. Anyone have the manual or know of the jumper settings to put this card in agp 4x? They were one of the major players in the 2D and early 3D graphics card competition throughout the 1990s and early 2000s.Diamond Multimedia later merged with S3, Incorporated in 1999 after a long-time cooperative business arrangement, when S3 decided to expand their business from producing graphics chipsets to manufacturing retail graphics cards. The move paralleled the 1999 3dfx purchase of STB Systems, which changed 3dfx from a graphics chipset supplier to companies including Diamond, into a vertically-integrated graphics vendor and direct competitor to S3. However, the first major product after the merger, branded as the S3 Savage 2000, was a commercial failure.

Growth in the add-on sound card market, also an ongoing Diamond business, was tempered by the 2000 bankruptcy of Aureal Semiconductor and subsequent asset purchase by vertically-integrated Creative Technologies. SONICblue was formed. Diamond Multimedia resurfaced in 2003 after the brand and assets had been purchased by Best Data. Diamond again built expansion boards. The SpeedStar line was launched as a series of high-performance ISA graphics cards that excelled in MS-DOS applications up through the early 1990s. However, as Microsoft Windows gained market share and newer graphics products entered the market, it was later relegated to the cheaper, value-oriented products and the SpeedStar branding was expanded to other products. The line later included chipsets with combined 2D and 3D capabilities. Initially the Stealth line was Diamond's high-end brand but transitioned to midrange after the Viper line was introduced.A special BIOS patch was released by Diamond for the Stealth II S220 which brought its clock speed up to the same level as the high-end Verite V2200 chip, resulting in equal performance at a significantly lower price. For example, the Diamond Stealth Video VRAM was rechristened the Diamond Stealth Video 3xxx. The numbers had more than a random meaning. Specifically, they tell the buyer the card's memory amount and type. The Stealth Video 3240 uses VRAM (3), is equipped with 2MB initially (2), and is upgradeable to 4MB (4). If the first digit was (2), then the card used standard DRAM.The Stealth Video 3240 was simply the old Stealth Video VRAM.Limited and slow Direct3D-supporting drivers did eventually show up, but performance was inadequate and buggy. The audio engine further received poor reviews regarding MIDI quality, which was a common standard for multimedia music playback at the time. When the 3D engine was called into use, the 3dfx-based card would disconnect the 2D pass-through signal and begin driving the display directly.

Both Voodoo and Voodoo2 based offerings were in production until the STB-3dfx merger. The series was highly successful as the Voodoo Graphics and Voodoo2 chipsets introduced consumer-grade 3D graphics into the PC and arcade markets, whereas such capabilities had previously been present primarily in very high-end CAD and graphic design workstations. In SLI, a pair of Voodoo2 boards splits the effort of rendering the 3D scene between alternating raster lines, allowing performance to be nearly doubled.Initially it consisted of a graphics accelerator board for VLB or PCI that was a combination of two graphics chips. For non-GUI environments such as DOS, the original Viper used an Oak Technology OTI-087 display chip with its own 256 KB DRAM. This chip was rather slow and basic. The Viper SE card moved to a Weitek 5186 chip with 1 MB DRAM for non-GUI functions. For GUI environments such as Windows, the Viper cards used a Weitek graphics co-processor which accelerated many drawing functions and performed very well for its time. The separate slow DOS chip was a problem for owners who played DOS games because these chips were quite slow and had limited and buggy VESA BIOS Extensions implementations. The Diamond Viper V330 used the highly integrated RIVA 128 accelerator that featured very capable 2D, 3D and video acceleration. The later Diamond Viper V550 and V770 utilized the RIVA TNT and RIVA TNT2 accelerators which were evolutions of the RIVA 128.The Diamond Viper II Z200 was based upon the S3 Savage 2000, a supposed NVIDIA GeForce 256 killer. Unfortunately the chip itself was not fully functional and the drivers were very buggy.ATI continues the Fire GL lineup. This was the same core as used for ATI driven FireGL V8650 and V8600 cards. Diamond altered the PCB reference design and labeled their device VFX 2000 series professional workstation graphics card.DOS game audio was only functional within a Windows 95 DOS box. It came equipped with a 2MB AdMOS MIDI daughterboard.

www.cndasion.com/d/files/790i-motherboard-manual.pdf

It also had a reduced quality AdMOS MIDI daughterboard (1MB).Otherwise it was technically identical to the original Monster Sound. It was a substantial step forward in gaming audio, with impressive 3D audio positioning and other effects. It utilized the then state-of-the-art Aureal A3D 2.0 3D audio API.This was a redundant feature because the central CPUs in PCs at the time were more than capable of handling MP3 playback. It was also somewhat complicated to make use of the MP3 acceleration because special software was needed to use it.Aureal had gone into bankruptcy and was dissolved, so their last generation of chips were never released. Diamond instead used ESS's less powerful chips to continue the line. The MX400 was the last of the Monster Sound cards.Whereas the MonsterSound lineup was targeted at no-holds-barred gamers, the Sonic Impact cards were more generally aimed, and were cheaper and less powerful. Still the lineup consisted of several capable cards. The brand has a lineage going back to Supra, Inc..These kits bundled a 'feature reduced' (several pin headers and other parts not installed) full length PCI MPEG2 analog overlay decoder card made by divion. They are a slightly newer product with the 'Navigator' player software having a cleaner user interface.Dual-layer DVDs are not supported in original Windows 95 or 95a, but are in the various versions of 95 OEM Service Release 2. Windows 98 or 98SE is not recommended due to problems that may happen with video color and alignment. Only the bundled player software can use the hardware MPEG2 decoding of the card.By using this site, you agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. The standard genetic code genetic-code number Sensitive mode The sensitive modes (--sensitive, --more-sensitive) are generally recommended for aligning longer sequences. Default sensitive-mode string Top alignments percentage DIAMOND uses the lowest common ancestor (LCA) algorithm for taxonomy classification of the input sequences. This parameter specifies what alignments should be taken into account during the calculations (--top). Values around 15 are reasonable for this parameter. Enabling this feature will have the aligner tolerate missing bases in DNA sequences and is most recommended for long, error-prone sequences like MinION reads. The program can be expected to use roughly six times this number of memory (in GB). 0.5 block-size number Index chunks The number of chunks for processing the seed index (--index-chunks). This option can be additionally used to tune the performance. It is recommended to set this to 1 on a high memory server, which will increase performance and memory usage, but not the usage of temporary disk space. 4 index-chunks number Number of threads Number of CPU threads (--treads). 8 threads number Output file Specify the output file name. Plug a foot switch into the multi-jack, and you can seamlessly sweep through two different effects settings. This analog pedal is capable of emulating various modulation tones and even inventing several new ones. The SwirlPool also features switches that help you fine-tune the pedal’s vibrato. Sculpt and shape the UV300’s overall effect using the dedicated Depth and Rate knobs, then control how fast the full detuning effect kicks in with the Rise dial. You can also use the UV300 as an unlatched pedal, letting you activate the vibrato effect anytime you want without having to step on the pedal again to turn it off. The VB-2W faithfully recreates the VB-2’s expressive, one-of-a-kind sound using all-analog circuitry and a bucket brigade device (BBD) vibrato line. With the flick of a two-position toggle, you can easily switch from the classic VB-2 vibrato effect to a Custom mode that features a completely new vibrato voicing powered by a unique filter wave. You get high-quality Detune, Flange, Phase, and Vibe effects, plus custom effects including a bias tremolo effect, a classic Roland amp-style jazz chorus, and a U-Vibe effect that simulates an effect close to the classic tonal characteristics of the venerable Uni-Vibe chorus and vibrato pedal. The Caline CP-38 Lucky 7 comes with a true bypass feature. It retains the silicon Fuzz chip with Level and Fuzz controls which let you add mind-bending Fuzz to the sweeping Uni-Vibe. The new Purple Moon still brings you back to players like Anastasio, Gilmour, Trower, or Hendrix, but it is more compact. It is housed within a two-toned, anodized diecast case with top mounted jacks. It integrates several top-grade components to give you the best tonal response possible. It features a reliable, precise Bucket Brigade chip and Burr-Brown op-amp for clean amplification. The Callisto allows you continuous control of Mix, Density, Rate, and Width for 100 organic tones and impeccable impact.

You can get wonderfully wobbly vibrato and chimey, glistening chorus effects in one sturdy footswitch-operated chassis. It boasts a 100 analog signal path which may be dialed in to produce an infinite palette of chorus and vibrato. Moreover, every switch and knob is connected to a digital brain while your guitar signal remains fully analog and not digitally processed. It features various updates from the earlier versions, including a redesigned tone circuit, a lag knob for rich chorus tones, lower noise, and opportunities for brighter and more transparent tones. The newly created hold, tone, and lag controls allow you to produce brighter, lusher, more shimmering chorus and vibrato tones than ever before. This budget-priced pedal packs a serious UniVibe punch thanks to a lightbulb and photoresistor design based on the same circuitry powering that legendary guitar effect pedal. You get three-dimensional, way-out-there swirls with just the right touch of off-kilter weirdness. Funky fresh and great vibes all around. It has a high-headroom circuit with MN3007 chip, offering up your instrument’s purest sound before you begin digging in. The variable chorus control lets you take your dry signal up against the pitch-modulated effected sound for real doubled tones. The Diamond Vibrato includes two switches—High that raises the vibrato’s intensity and Jazz which makes for a warmer, darker tonality for a vintage feel. You may uniquely contour each to accentuate high frequencies and drive to distort using the stacked Drive and Tone knob. These controls’ flexibility, coupled with individual Mix, Depth, and Speed controls let you dial up anything from a slight amplitude and frequency modulation to maximum case of vertigo. A foot-switchable speed function enables you to ramp between fast and slow speed on the fly. It comes in an aluminium-alloy chassis consists of three function knobs (Rate, Depth, and E.Level) for setting the effect level. Use the E.
